The Hotel Catalunya, built in 1968 and renovated in 1991, is located in the heart of Barcelona close to Las Ramblas and the Gothic Quarter. The city's main tourist attractions, business district, shops, restaurants, bars and entertainment are within easy reach from the hotel.

Rooms are simple but very clean, comfortable and well equipped. There is a bathroom, phone, TV with local channels only and central heating. Please note, that Cataluna hotel does not have air-conditioned rooms.

Breakfast is served at a different hotel right across the street, which is sort of cool, like going to a cafe for breakfast. Hotel Catalunya may not be the fanciest hotel in Barcelona but it is comfortable and with its unbeatable central location, it is a great choice for a budget traveler.
